Chocolate Whoopie Pies

Chocolate Whoopie Pies

I am well and truly back into the swings of things now after a lovely holiday. Back in the kitchen again too baking up a storm.

I’ve got a few cookbooks for Whoopie Pies but never actually made any from scratch so thought I would give them a try.

They were very easy to make and turned out rather nice.

Looking forward to making some more and experimenting with different flavours.

My Favourite Primer

image

I’ve been a bit busy this week so thought I would do a quick product review for Beauty Tip Tuesday this week.

I decided on my favourite primer, Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre Foundation Primer. I’ve been using this primer for years now and I really love it. It’s a blend of Vitamin E, Chamomile and Yarrow extract. It keeps your skin hydrated and provides a base for your foundation helping it to stay put during the day. It feels beautiful on your skin and can even be worn without foundation.

I’ve waived from this primer a few times over the years and tried other brands but I always come back to Napoleon Perdis. It is a bit pricey at $59.00 AUD but worth every penny. And I must say I love the gorgeous gold packaging too.

As Napoleon Perdis says, ‘It’s a Crime not to Prime!’

If you don’t have an NP store nearby you purchase online at http://www.napoleonperdis.com

Kids Travel Activity Bags

Activity Bags

I recently went on a holiday to Phuket, Thailand with the family and I must say I was a bit nervous about the 9 hour flight from Sydney and how the kids would go on the plane.

At the time of our trip our daughter was two weeks shy of 5 and our son was 22 months. As you can imagine they can’t stay still for five minutes let alone 9 hours. So I decided to put together an activity bag each to hopefully keep them occupied.

A few months before we left I started collecting a few things when I was doing the groceries or at the shops. Like colouring books, pencils, stickers etc. If your kids are a bit older you could put in things like finder words or games as well. I added some tissues and wipes as well which were very handy.

The day before I also bought some snacks to put in. Admittedly, they weren’t the healthiest but hey, we were on holidays. Then I found some cute little bags with their favourite characters on at Target which I thought would be perfect.

Of course I had to keep this secret or they would be into everything before we left. So the night before I put the bags together when they were asleep and left them by their suitcases at the front door.

When we woke up in the morning we got ready and as we were about to walk out the door and start loading up the car, the activity bags were discovered. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to see what was in them.

It’s an hour drive from our place to the airport and they were into the bags the whole time. They were so cute. There was no way they were letting go of those bags. They loved them.

As soon as we got on the plane they were into the bags again and colouring in. It kept them occupied almost the whole way in between meals and naps that is. They were so good I couldn’t believe it. Even on the way home they were great. Again the bags helped and it was a night flight so they slept most of the way.

I would definately recommend doing something like this if you are going on a long haul flight or road trip with small children.

If you have any other tips for travelling with kids please let me know in the comments.
